Comfortable shoes. Above all.
What to wear? - this is a no-holds-barred city when it comes to attire. Do you have a fabulous foot-tall hat full of fake fruit? It's perfect. Prefer athleisure? You'll also fit right in. Out and about, you'll see it all, but we definteiy recommend comfortable walking shoes for exploring the city. And layers. Weather could go 10 different ways (but it won't change fast ... looking at you, Colorado!).
We really aren't sure what to expect, as we've been in January when it's just frozen (yes, hard freeze) but also it could be t-shirt weather. Rain isn't very likely, but it is humid (us dry-climate folks find humidity + cool weather = SO COLD). Don't come underprepared - we don't want you to freeze!
Did we mention anything goes? There's no dress code. Hawaiian shirts are encouraged, and fancy clothes are not required.
Bring your dancing shoes and favorite party clothes (or heck, go out and grab a new feather boa!). It's impossible to overdress from a fashion standpoint - because beads, feathers, glitter, and fascinators are just everyday looks in the Crescent City. Also, sneakers and spandex rock!
There will be a foot parade on ridiculously uneven streets (like all Nola streets), so those stilettos may be better left home.
Dads will be wearing How Ah Ya shirts and they have our endorsement. Jack is voguing in Logo A Gogo here. For the wedding, Sam will shake a tail feather in Moonlit Magnolias and John is rockin' Vintage Vinyl.
We have also heard talk of Fleur de Jazz, and Stellar! ... making appearances.
Let us know what you grab!
Fan of a dressier style? Check out Nola Couture for a tie or bowtie!
["taken" isn't a thing in Nola, so don't hesitate to get one and find a friend wearing the same shirt – you have great taste!]
